New Delhi,March,17,2026: More than 200 people were killed after a Pakistan airstrike Kabul hospital incident in Afghanistan, officials said on March 17, 2026. The strike reportedly targeted a hospital in Kabul that treats drug addicts.

According to Afghanistan’s Health Ministry, the attack came amid ongoing border clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan that have continued for several weeks.

Afghan authorities said the Pakistan military carried out the airstrike late Monday. The hospital in Kabul was reportedly hit during the operation, causing heavy casualties among patients and people in the area.

Health ministry spokesperson Sharafat Zaman said preliminary reports show more than 200 people were killed and more than 200 others were injured in the strike.

“The preliminary reports are that so far we have more than 200 martyrs and more than 200 injured,” Zaman told AFP while confirming the scale of the casualties.

The alleged strike took place only hours after Afghan officials reported renewed fighting along the Afghanistan Pakistan border. Authorities said both sides exchanged fire, resulting in at least four deaths inside Afghanistan.

Border tensions between the two neighboring countries have intensified in recent weeks. Officials said the latest exchange of fire marked the third consecutive week of clashes along the frontier.

Images circulating from Kabul showed smoke and flames rising from the area believed to have been struck during the air raid. Emergency responders and medical teams were seen working at the site following the explosion.

The hospital that was reportedly hit is known for treating people suffering from drug addiction, according to Afghan officials.

Authorities have not yet released a final casualty count, and investigations into the incident are ongoing. Officials said rescue operations were still underway as injured people continued to receive treatment in nearby medical facilities.

Further statements from Pakistan or international authorities had not been issued at the time the report was published.
