SAN Francisco,April 21,2026: Google Gemini Chrome update: Google has expanded its Gemini feature in Chrome to seven additional countries. The announcement was made on April 20, 2026, with availability on desktop and iOS platforms in most regions.
The rollout includes Australia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam. The company stated that iOS support is not included in Japan as part of this release.
The Gemini feature in Chrome provides users with an AI-powered assistant accessible through a floating window and a sidebar. This assistant is designed to help users perform tasks across multiple tabs and improve browsing efficiency.
Users can ask questions, get answers, and connect to services using Gemini’s Personal Intelligence feature. This allows integration with tools such as Gmail, Google Photos, Calendar, and Maps for more personalized responses.
Through the sidebar assistant, users can schedule meetings, check location details, and draft or send emails. The feature also enables image transformations directly on the web using Nano Banana 2.
The Gemini in Chrome feature was first introduced to users in the United States in January 2026. The company later expanded it to India, Canada, and New Zealand in March.
With this latest expansion, the feature is now available in more international markets. However, the agentic capability, which allows the AI to control browser actions and complete tasks automatically, is still under testing.
This advanced feature is currently limited to users subscribed to AI Pro and AI Ultra plans in the United States. The company has not provided a timeline for its wider release.
