Mumbai,21.04.2026: The KTM 390 Duke has been updated in India with a new 349cc version, introduced on April 21, 2026. The motorcycle will be sold alongside the existing 399cc variant, now branded as the R version.

Performance differences
The standard 349cc KTM 390 Duke produces 40.9bhp and 33.5Nm. In comparison, the R variant with the 399cc engine delivers 45.3bhp and 39Nm. The difference is expected to be noticeable in acceleration and top speed during real-world riding.
Dimensions and weight
The standard model has a kerb weight of 168kg, which is just 0.3kg lighter than the R version. However, it offers a lower seat height of 800mm, making it more accessible. The R variant has a seat height that is 20mm taller. The standard model also features a slightly smaller 14.5-litre fuel tank.
Design and colours
Both variants are available in three colour options each, with different styling. The R version comes with an orange frame and bolder paint schemes, while the standard version features a black chassis and more subtle colours. Some R variants also get orange wheels for a more aggressive look.
Pricing
The key advantage of the new 349cc KTM 390 Duke lies in its pricing. It is priced at Rs. 2.77 lakh, making it Rs. 62,000 more affordable than the R version. The KTM 390 Duke R is priced at Rs. 3.38 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom.
Background
The introduction of the 349cc engine allows the KTM 390 Duke to fall under the lower GST bracket applicable to motorcycles below 350cc. This move has resulted in a more affordable entry point for buyers.
What’s next
Both versions of the KTM 390 Duke will continue to be sold together, offering buyers a choice between affordability and higher performance.
