Mahindra has expanded its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme across its entire Electric Origin SUV range, extending the option to all variants of the BE 6 Sporteq, XEV 9S and XEV 9e.
Under the programme, customers can purchase the electric SUV at a lower upfront price and pay a separate monthly battery charge based on usage and financing terms.
Mahindra BE 6, XEV 9S and XEV 9e BaaS Prices
The BE 6 Sporteq is now available under the BaaS programme at an introductory vehicle price of Rs 11.45 lakh, with a battery usage cost starting at Rs 3.75 per kilometre.
The XEV 9S is available from Rs 12.65 lakh under the programme, while the XEV 9e starts at Rs 13.90 lakh. Both models have a battery EMI structure starting at an effective usage cost of Rs 3.75 per kilometre.
Battery EMI Starts From Rs 6,975
According to the programme details, the BaaS calculation is based on a battery EMI starting from Rs 6,975. The indicative cost considers a usage level of around 60 kilometres per day and a specific down payment arrangement.
The final battery EMI will vary depending on the battery capacity, down payment selected by the customer and loan tenure. Charging expenses, regular maintenance and repair costs are not included in the quoted battery EMI.
Lower Upfront Cost for Electric SUV Buyers
Mahindra’s expansion of the Battery-as-a-Service programme across the BE 6 and XEV range is aimed at reducing the initial purchase price of its electric SUVs by separating the vehicle and battery costs.
Customers choosing the BaaS option will need to consider their expected daily usage and financing terms, as the battery payment is structured separately from the vehicle’s purchase price.
Outlook
With the BaaS option now available across the entire Electric Origin SUV portfolio, Mahindra is offering buyers an alternative financing route for the BE 6 Sporteq, XEV 9S and XEV 9e. The actual cost of ownership will depend on individual usage, battery size, down payment and financing tenure.
