A Telangana pre budget meeting was held as part of the preparations for the 2026-27 state budget. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Panchayat Raj and Rural Development and Women and Child Development Minister Seethakka chaired the review with senior officials.

Special Chief Secretaries from the Finance Department, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department, and Women and Child Development Department attended the meeting along with other senior officials.

During the Telangana pre budget meeting, ministers reviewed key welfare and development priorities related to rural infrastructure and social welfare programs. Officials discussed measures to strengthen anganwadi centres and improve nutrition programs aimed at addressing malnutrition.

The meeting also focused on development works in rural areas. Discussions were held on improving internal village roads, drainage systems, and the effective utilisation of funds under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act scheme.

Ministers also examined issues related to the release of funds to Gram Panchayats. Officials said steps are being considered to remove administrative obstacles that delay fund allocation to local bodies.

Officials also presented a proposal to convert the state budget into a fully digital system starting from the 2026-27 financial year. The system is expected to allow authorities to track expenditure and monitor the use of funds more efficiently.

The Telangana pre budget meeting is part of the government’s ongoing consultations with departments to finalise budget priorities for the upcoming financial year.

Further discussions with other departments are expected as the state government continues the process of preparing the 2026-27 budget.
