Amaravathi,March,03,2026: The Andhra Pradesh government has included APSRTC employees in the Employees Health Scheme monitoring committee. Orders were issued on Tuesday to add two employee unions to the state-level panel overseeing the scheme.

The government has taken another decision concerning APSRTC employees by granting representation in the Employees Health Scheme monitoring committee.

After the coalition government assumed office, several key decisions were taken regarding RTC staff. They were brought under the Employees Health Scheme. However, RTC unions were not initially given representation in the committee supervising its implementation.

Due to this, employee representatives were unable to raise health-related concerns directly before the panel. Union leaders had been requesting the government to include their representatives in the state-level monitoring committee.

Responding to these requests, the government has now issued orders to include representatives from the APPTD Employees Union and the APPTD National Mazdoor Unity Association in the committee. The unions welcomed the decision and stated that it would help address issues faced by APSRTC employees under the health scheme.

The Employees Health Scheme currently covers around 16 lakh employees and their family members across the state. The high-level committee monitors the implementation of the scheme and reviews related matters.

The government has also directed the Chief Executive Officer of the NTR Vaidya Seva Trust to take necessary steps to implement the revised composition of the committee. With the latest orders, the inclusion of the two RTC unions in the monitoring panel is expected to be completed soon.

APSRTC employees had been seeking this representation to ensure that their health concerns are formally addressed within the scheme’s review mechanism. Further administrative steps are likely to follow to operationalise the revised committee structure.
