Rajahmundry,March,01,2026 : Rashtra Praja Congress president Meda Srinivas raised questions on the Jana Sena Party flag during a press meet held in Rajahmundry on March 1, 2026. He sought a clarification from party chief Pawan Kalyan on the flag’s design and its implications.

Rashtra Praja Congress president Meda Srinivas on Saturday questioned the design and symbolism of the Jana Sena Party flag, stating that it could raise concerns in a secular country like India.

Addressing the media at the party’s weekly meeting in Rajahmundry, Srinivas asked Jana Sena Party chief Pavan Kalyan to explain the origins and inspiration behind the Jana Sena Party flag. He alleged that the design resembled symbols associated with foreign religious traditions.

Srinivas stated that political symbols used in India should reflect Indian cultural and constitutional values. He said the Jana Sena Party flag could lead to avoidable debates and misunderstandings among different communities.

He further said that Pawan Kalyan, who has publicly identified himself as a Sanatani Hindu, should clarify the ideological basis of his party’s symbols. According to Srinivas, clarity was necessary to avoid confusion among party workers and the public.

The Rashtra Praja Congress leader also claimed that the continued use of the current flag could affect social harmony in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He urged the Jana Sena Party leadership to reconsider the design in the interest of secularism.

Srinivas said his party viewed the issue as one related to public sentiment and national unity rather than political rivalry. He maintained that political parties must act responsibly while choosing symbols used in public campaigns.

He announced that representations on the matter would be submitted to the President of India, the Prime Minister, and the Chief Justice of India. He added that the objective was to seek institutional attention to the issue.

The meeting was attended by senior leaders and members of the Rashtra Praja Congress, who echoed similar concerns during the discussion.

The Jana Sena Party, founded by Pawan Kalyan, is a regional political party active in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It is currently part of the ruling alliance in Andhra Pradesh.

No response has been issued so far by the Jana Sena Party regarding the remarks made by the Rashtra Praja Congress.
