Tirumala,March,03,2026: Tirumala Temple Darshan resumed on Tuesday night after the conclusion of the lunar eclipse. Devotees were allowed entry from 8 pm following purification rituals at the shrine.
The Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala was reopened after remaining closed for several hours due to the lunar eclipse on March 3, 2026.
According to temple authorities, the doors were closed at 9 am as per the pre-decided schedule in view of the eclipse, which lasted from 3.26 pm to 6.47 pm.
After the eclipse ended, the temple doors were reopened at 7.30 pm. Temple purification rituals, including Punyahavachanam and other kainkaryams, were performed before allowing devotees for darshan from 8 pm.
Tirumala Temple Darshan arrangements were restored to normal following the completion of these rituals.
Annaprasadam distribution also resumed on Tuesday night. The Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam Complex, which was closed at 9 am due to the eclipse, was reopened at 7.30 pm.
After kitchen purification, free meal distribution to devotees began from 8.30 pm. Laddu counters were also reopened for devotees.

Temple closures during eclipses are part of established religious practice. Ritual purification is conducted before reopening the shrine to devotees.
With the conclusion of the lunar eclipse, regular darshan and related services at the temple have now resumed as scheduled.
