The MG 07 has attracted more than 10,000 firm orders just 1 minute and 57 seconds after its official launch at the Chengdu Auto Show in China. The new sedan starts at 108,900 yuan, equivalent to about A$22,600, making its pricing one of its strongest selling points.
The MG 07 is offered in seven variants, including two plug-in hybrid versions and five battery-electric models.

The entry-level Hybrid 245 Comfort Edition is priced at 108,900 yuan, while the range-topping EV 845 flagship costs 159,900 yuan, or around A$33,184.
The battery-electric versions use an 800-volt architecture and offer front-wheel-drive power outputs ranging from 176kW and 300Nm to 235kW and 350Nm. Battery choices include 67kWh and 91kWh packs, with claimed CLTC driving ranges of 610km, 650km and 845km depending on the variant.

The top-spec electric version also supports 5C fast charging. MG has indicated that deliveries of the 650km version were expected to begin in August, with the 845km model scheduled to follow in October.
The plug-in hybrid MG 07 combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 82kW with a 152kW electric motor. It has a claimed electric-only CLTC range of 245km and a combined CLTC range of up to 1,745km when the battery and fuel tank are fully charged and filled.

The sedan measures 4,886mm long, 1,900mm wide and 1,478mm high, with a 2,825mm wheelbase. Its exterior features frameless doors, semi-hidden door handles, through-type tail-lights, two-tone wheels and a five-stage adjustable rear spoiler.

Inside, the MG 07 features a wrap-around cockpit, a full LCD instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch central touchscreen. Other equipment includes automatic driver-seat adjustment with heating and ventilation, a passenger “Queen” zero-gravity mode and a 21-speaker sound system. The car also uses LiDAR technology powered by Momenta’s R7 system.
MG has not yet announced Australian pricing for the 07. However, its Chinese pricing has raised expectations that the model could be positioned below the Tesla Model 3 RWD if it reaches the Australian market.
