Mumbai, April 09,2026: The Tata Nexon has become India’s highest-selling SUV in the financial year 2025–26. The model recorded total sales of 2,16,054 units, according to the latest industry data released on April 8, 2026.
The Tata Nexon registered a 32 percent year-on-year growth, reclaiming the top position in the SUV segment. It moved ahead of the Hyundai Creta, which secured second place with total sales of 2,01,921 units during the same period.
The Tata Punch, which led the SUV charts in FY2025, dropped to third position with 1,83,980 units sold. The Maruti Suzuki Brezza followed in fourth place with sales of 1,80,104 units.
The Mahindra Scorpio range, including Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N, completed the top five with 1,78,800 units. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx ranked sixth, recording 1,72,363 units in FY26.
The Mahindra Thar lineup, including the Roxx variant, showed notable growth and secured the seventh position with 1,26,261 units. The increase was supported by the introduction of a five-door version.
Hyundai Venue stood eighth with 1,17,737 units, while Kia Sonet followed in ninth place with 1,14,142 units. The Mahindra Bolero and Bolero Neo range completed the top ten with combined sales of 1,10,136 units.
The sales figures reflect strong competition across compact and midsize SUV segments. While the Tata Nexon led overall volumes, models like Creta and Punch continued to maintain steady demand.
The FY26 rankings highlight consistent performance from established models and growing demand for SUVs across urban and rural markets.
