Tata Motors has revealed the clearest look yet at the interior of the upcoming Tata Sierra EV ahead of its official debut on June 30. In its latest teaser, the automaker showcased several confirmed cabin features while also demonstrating the electric SUV’s off-road capability by climbing the 300-metre-tall Tal Moreeb sand dune in the UAE.
The latest teaser confirms that the Tata Sierra EV will feature a black-and-white interior theme inspired by the upcoming ICE version. The dashboard will get a triple-screen layout, accompanied by a panoramic sunroof, a heads-up display (HUD), Boost Mode, and six customizable terrain modes. These features indicate Tata Motors is positioning the Sierra EV as a premium electric SUV with a strong focus on technology and comfort.
On the performance front, Tata Motors has confirmed that the Sierra EV will be offered with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) dual-motor setup producing up to 500 Nm of torque. The company has also confirmed that the SUV will use a rear multi-link suspension, which is expected to improve ride comfort and handling across different terrains.
While the company has not officially announced the complete specification list, the Sierra EV is expected to offer premium features including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12-speaker JBL audio system, a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats with a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and memory function, dual-zone automatic climate control, connected car technology, cruise control, and an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror.
Safety is also expected to be a major highlight. The electric SUV is likely to come equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), front and rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and disc brakes on all four wheels.
Tata Motors has confirmed only the AWD drivetrain so far, while battery specifications remain under wraps. However, the Sierra EV is expected to share its battery options with the Harrier EV. Expected configurations include 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs with claimed driving ranges of up to 627 km for rear-wheel-drive variants and approximately 622 km for the dual-motor AWD version under MIDC Part 1+2 testing.
The Tata Sierra EV is expected to be priced above Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). It is likely to compete with the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti e Vitara, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, VinFast VF7, and Toyota Ebella in the Indian electric SUV market.
