New Delhi.01.07.2024: Three new laws will come into effect in India from today, new laws in india marking a significant shift in the countryโ€™s legal framework. The longstanding Indian Penal Code (IPC), Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), and Indian Evidence Act (IEA) are being replaced by the Indian Code of Criminal Procedure (BNS), Indian Civil Protection Code (BNSS), and the new Indian Evidence Act (BSA).

While there have been no major protests against these new laws, the police apparatus in various states is fully prepared. Training camps have already been organized for police personnel in several stages. Necessary updates have also been made to the computer systems to accommodate the changes. The central government asserts that the new laws will promote more transparent investigations and trials through the use of modern technology.
