Telangana.21.07.2024: Telangana school timings have been changed for all high schools across the state, except in Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The new timings are from 9 a.m. to 4.15 p.m., effective immediately, as directed by the government on Friday. Previously, high schools operated from 9.30 a.m. to 4.45 p.m.
This adjustment aligns the high school schedule with that of primary and upper primary schools, which already follow these hours. The government’s decision aims to standardize school timings across Telangana, ensuring uniformity.
The official order stated, “Government hereby decides to change the High School timings to function from 9 a.m. to 4.15 p.m. instead of 9.30 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. to equate them with primary and upper primary school timings and retain the school timings of 8.45 a.m. to 4 p.m. in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.”
No Change in Hyderabad and Secunderabad
In Hyderabad and Secunderabad, school timings will remain unchanged. High schools in these twin cities will continue to operate from 8.45 a.m. to 4 p.m. This decision is due to road traffic congestion, which necessitates maintaining the existing schedule.
The government has communicated these changes to school heads and district educational officers to ensure a smooth transition. Parents and students are advised to take note of the new timings and adjust their schedules accordingly.
