Hyderabad, August 16, 2025: Telangana Roads and Buildings (R&B) Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy reviewed statewide road conditions following heavy rains, noting extensive damage across the network.

He directed officials to carry out immediate temporary restoration wherever roads and culverts have been cut off, ensuring public transport is not affected. The minister also sought proposals for the permanent reconstruction of damaged roads and bridges.

Emphasizing inter-departmental coordination, he called on the police, irrigation, revenue, panchayat raj, and electricity departments to support the efforts. Engineers were instructed to conduct field inspections of culverts, causeways, and bridges and to take all necessary precautions to prevent any loss of life.

Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj said 24/7 control rooms have been established in all districts and linked to the State R&B control centre for continuous monitoring. Chief Engineer Mohan Naik added that all 37 divisions are on alert and field engineers are being monitored through video conferences.

The minister appreciated engineers’ efforts over the past two days and urged continued commitment, as heavy rainfall is expected to continue in the coming days.
