Bhadrachalam Godavari river incident

A tragic incident occurred in Bhadrachalam of Bhadradri Kothagudem district, where five young men were swept away while bathing in the Godavari river. The incident took place on Friday near Kunavaram, a border area close to Bhadrachalam.

According to available information, a group of seven engineering students studying at SRM College in Amaravati had travelled to Bhadrachalam to visit the temple. Later, five of them entered the river at the Veluru area on the outskirts of the town for a bath.

Due to the depth and strong current of the river, all five students were suddenly pulled into the water. Two other students who were with them managed to come out safely and alerted authorities.

The missing students have been identified as Satish, Navdeep, Tejagna, Abhiram and Srikar. Among them, two bodies have been recovered, while search operations continue for the remaining three.
