Earthquake in Jagtial District Triggers Panic Among Residents

Jagitial, March,08,2026: The Jagtial earthquake caused panic in parts of Telangana on Sunday afternoon. Residents in Kathalapur mandal reported feeling the ground shake briefly around 12:45 PM.

According to local reports, the tremor lasted for about two seconds. People also reported hearing a loud sound at the time of the incident.

The tremor was experienced across several areas of Kathalapur mandal in Jagtial district. Residents said the sudden shaking and noise created confusion and fear in the locality.

Many people immediately rushed out of their homes after sensing the movement. Some residents gathered on the streets and open areas as they tried to understand what had happened.

Witnesses said the incident occurred suddenly and ended within a few seconds. Due to the brief duration, many people were unsure about the cause of the shaking when it first happened.

Local residents reported that the loud sound along with the ground movement increased the panic in the area. People stepped outside their houses as a precaution.

No immediate reports of damage or injuries have been confirmed so far. However, the incident created concern among people in the surrounding villages.
