Karimnagar,March,18,2026: A woman identified as Divya, the wife of a Sub-Inspector working at the Two Town Police Station in Karimnagar district, died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment in a hospital.
According to police, the incident occurred on Tuesday evening when she allegedly attempted suicide at her residence in Hanuman Nagar.
Police said Divya was the wife of Chandrasekhar, a Sub-Inspector currently serving at the Two Town Police Station in Karimnagar. She reportedly consumed crushed oleander seeds mixed with water at their house on Tuesday evening.
Family members noticed her deteriorating condition shortly after the incident and immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite medical care, her condition became critical and she died on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident created concern among local residents in Karimnagar. Police confirmed that the deceased is survived by two sons.
Family members reportedly told authorities that Divya had been suffering from severe stomach pain and was unable to bear it, which may have led to the suicide attempt.
However, police said that the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are still being examined. Authorities have stated that the case is being investigated from all possible angles.
Following the incident, One Town police registered a case and began further inquiry. The body was shifted to the Karimnagar Government Hospital for postmortem examination.
Officials said further details will be known after the investigation progresses and the postmortem report is received.
