Hyderabad,29.06.2025: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has directed officials to speed up Singareni Collieries Company Limited’s (SCCL) major renewable energy projects.

In a review meeting at Praja Bhavan on Saturday, he asked for quick approvals and immediate start of key projects including:

  • Floating solar plants at Mallannasagar and Lower Manair
  • A 500 MW wind power project across five districts
  • A 500 MW pumped storage power project at Medipalli

The Deputy CM also highlighted the importance of fast-tracking a 1,500 MW solar project in Rajasthan, in partnership with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RVUNL). He called for a cabinet discussion on an 800 MW thermal power unit as well.

Officials were instructed to use advanced technology for feasibility studies and to set up a centralised dashboard for real-time project monitoring.

SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N Balaram shared plans to generate 7,000 MW from green energy projects and sought government support for quicker approvals.

Senior officials from SCCL and the state’s Energy Department also attended the meeting.
