Yellow Alert for Six Districts Including Hyderabad

IMD Forecasts Heavy Rains and Strong Winds Across Telangana

Hyderabad.02.09.2024: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued fresh warnings for various places in Telangana, which are currently facing the threat of rain. On Monday and Tuesday, IMD issued a yellow alert for Hyderabad and six other districts. However, due to continuous heavy rains in some areas of Telangana over the past two days, the intensity of the rains is expected to reduce from Monday.

IMD has issued a yellow alert for six districts in the state, warning of possible heavy rains in Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Nirmal, Medak, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, and Narayanpet districts. The Meteorological Department has also warned that heavy rains are likely in Adilabad, Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, and Hanmakonda districts on Monday and Tuesday.

There is also a possibility of rain with strong winds in different parts of the state. In Hyderabad and surrounding areas, the sky is expected to remain cloudy over the next 24 hours. “The city is likely to experience moderate to heavy rains or thundershowers, accompanied by strong winds. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 24°C and 22°C, respectively,” the IMD stated.
