Telangana Gram Panchayat Training 2026

During a video conference with Additional Collectors (Local Bodies), Engineers-in-Chief, CEOs, DRDOs, DPOs, EE(PR), and EE(RWS) officials, Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Women and Child Welfare Minister Dr. Danasari Anasuya Seethakka said the objective is to ensure effective implementation of government programmes and transparent utilisation of public funds at the village level.

Focus on Rural Development Planning

The training will cover the preparation of the Gram Panchayat Strategic Action Plan (GP SAP), utilisation of 16th Finance Commission grants, implementation of the VBG-RAMG Act, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee works, drinking water supply, sanitation, and rural infrastructure development.

The Minister instructed officials to ensure that every rupee spent in villages complies with government rules and financial guidelines. She stressed that the training should provide practical knowledge on planning, fund management, administrative procedures and inter-departmental coordination.

Target of 12 Crore Person-Days

The State Government has approved a budget of Rs. 6,311 crore under the VBG-RAMG programme for the current financial year. The government has set a target of generating 12 crore person-days between July and March.

Officials were directed to create at least 1,000 person-days of employment every month in each Gram Panchayat and work towards providing employment to nearly five lakh workers daily across the state.

Priority for Water Conservation and Infrastructure

Keeping the possible impact of El Niño in view, the Minister instructed officials to prioritise water conservation works, including soak pits for every household, farm ponds, percolation tanks, borewell recharge structures and the excavation of 1,000 new agricultural wells across Telangana.

She also directed officials to complete approved Gram Panchayat buildings, Mahila Bhavans and Anganwadi buildings within the stipulated timelines while improving drinking water supply, sanitation, internal roads, drainage systems and other public infrastructure.

Attendance Mandatory

Seethakka said attendance at the district-level training programmes is mandatory for Sarpanches, Deputy Sarpanches, Panchayat Secretaries, engineering staff and other concerned officials. She warned that disciplinary action would be initiated against those who remain absent without valid reasons.

The Minister urged participants to treat the programme as an opportunity to improve village governance and strengthen the functioning of Gram Panchayats across Telangana.
