Hyderabad, March,09,2026: Two Sub Inspectors were caught by the Anti Corruption Bureau while allegedly accepting a bribe in Hyderabad. The incident took place at the LB Nagar Cyber Crime Police Station in Telangana.

Hyderabad ACB bribe case

According to officials, the Sub Inspectors demanded money from a complainant in connection with issuing legal notices. The ACB team caught them while they were receiving the bribe.

Officials said the case involves two Sub Inspectors identified as Babu Naik and Pramod. They were posted at the LB Nagar Cyber Crime Police Station in Hyderabad.

The officers allegedly demanded one lakh rupees from a complainant to issue 41 notices to an accused person in a case. The complainant approached the Anti Corruption Bureau and filed a formal complaint about the demand for a bribe.

Following the complaint, ACB officials planned a trap to verify the allegation. During the operation, the two officers were caught red handed while accepting the bribe amount of one lakh rupees from the complainant.

The Anti Corruption Bureau immediately detained both Sub Inspectors after confirming the transaction. Officials also seized the bribe amount during the operation.

ACB authorities said the operation was conducted after the victim reported the demand for illegal payment. The officials stated that the action was taken as part of their ongoing efforts to curb corruption in government departments.

Further investigation is currently underway to gather additional details related to the case.

The Anti Corruption Bureau regularly conducts such trap operations when complaints are received regarding bribery by public servants. These actions are aimed at ensuring accountability and preventing corruption in public offices.

Officials are expected to continue the investigation and take further legal action as per procedure.
