Hyderabad.31.07.2024: The BRS has urged protests across Telangana after Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made derogatory comments about senior women legislators P Sabitha Indra Reddy and Sunita Lakshma Reddy during the Assembly session. The party demanded an immediate retraction and an unconditional apology from the Chief Minister to the women of Telangana.
BRS’s working president KT Rama Rao called for burning effigies of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in all district headquarters on Thursday. He condemned the CM’s remarks, describing them as offensive and insulting to every woman striving for success in Telangana.
Rama Rao emphasized that such comments were particularly hurtful given the public service and sacrifices of Sabitha Indra Reddy and Sunita Lakshma Reddy. He stated that Revanth Reddy’s remarks had deeply offended women and girls across Telangana, especially those aspiring to progress in life.
Rama Rao urged Telangana society to condemn the Chief Minister’s words, criticizing what he called an abuse of power. He emphasized the importance of holding leaders accountable despite their positions of authority.
