Delhi.04.07.2024: Veteran BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani has been discharged from Apollo Hospital after being admitted under the observation of Consultant Neurologist Dr. Vinit Suri. The 96-year-old leader was admitted on Wednesday evening at 9 pm, according to sources.

Lal Krishna Advani’s Health Update

Advani, who had a brief stay at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) prior to his admission to Apollo Hospital, underwent a comprehensive evaluation by a team of specialists in urology, cardiology, and geriatric medicine. This thorough assessment ensured that all aspects of his health were meticulously checked and monitored.

Born on November 8, 1927, in Karachi (now in Pakistan), Lal Krishna Advani has had a significant political career. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna by President Draupadi Murmu on March 30, 2024. Before dedicating himself fully to politics in 1967, Advani initially worked as Assistant Editor for the Organiser in 1960.

Advani’s Political Journey

As BJP president from 1986 onwards, Advani played a pivotal role in supporting the VHP’s Ram Temple demand and led the party until 1990. He served as BJP president again from 1993 to 1998 and from 2004 to 2005. Advani stepped down from all party positions in 2013 following Narendra Modi’s selection to lead the BJP’s 2014 election campaign.

Advani’s political journey began with the RSS as a swayamsevak in 1942, and he entered parliament as a Rajya Sabha member in 1970. His first Lok Sabha election victory was in 1989 from New Delhi, where he defeated Mohini Giri.

The news of Advani’s discharge comes as a relief to his supporters and well-wishers who have been concerned about his health. The veteran leader’s extensive contributions to Indian politics and his steadfast dedication to the BJP have left an indelible mark on the country’s political landscape.
