New Delhi, March,09,2026: UPI ATM cash withdrawal service has been introduced in India, allowing users to withdraw money without using a debit or credit card. Several major banks including SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and PNB are now providing this facility following approval from the Reserve Bank of India.

UPI ATM cash withdrawal

The new system enables customers to withdraw cash directly from ATMs using their UPI applications. This cardless withdrawal method is designed to make banking transactions more convenient and secure for users.

Under this facility, users can withdraw cash by scanning a QR code displayed on the ATM screen using their UPI-enabled mobile application. After scanning the code, customers must enter their UPI PIN to complete the transaction and receive the cash.

The service allows a maximum withdrawal of up to Rs 10000 in a single transaction. The daily withdrawal limit has been set at Rs 20000 through the UPI ATM cash withdrawal facility.

To use this feature, customers must have an active UPI application on their smartphone along with an internet connection. Once the QR code is scanned and the UPI PIN is entered successfully, the ATM dispenses the requested cash.

The Reserve Bank of India has permitted banks to enable this technology as part of the country’s ongoing digital payments expansion. Public and private sector banks such as SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and PNB have already started offering this service at select ATMs.

The UPI ATM cash withdrawal system is intended to reduce dependence on physical debit and credit cards while providing a secure digital transaction option for customers.

This initiative reflects the growing adoption of UPI based services in India and the continued push toward digital banking solutions.
