Lucknow, April 4, 2026: The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a major recruitment drive for more than 81,000 posts in the state police department. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made the announcement during a review meeting held late Thursday night.
The 81000 UP Police vacancy recruitment will be conducted during the financial year 2026-27 and will include multiple categories of police positions.
According to officials, the recruitment will be conducted in a transparent manner following reservation rules and within a fixed timeline. The Chief Minister instructed that the entire recruitment process should be technology based and accountability should be ensured at every level.
The recruitment will include posts such as Sub Inspector, Civil Police Constable, Radio Assistant Operator, Computer Operator Grade A and Confidential Sub Inspector. Officials informed that recruitment for some of these posts has already started.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also reviewed emergency response services. Currently, the average response time of PRV 112 vehicles is about six minutes. He directed officials to further reduce response time by strategically positioning vehicles, ensuring continuous movement and reviewing route charts every fifteen days.
The government also announced that fire stations will be established in every tehsil under the one tehsil one fire tender plan. Hydraulic fire tenders will also be provided in each district to strengthen emergency services.
In the meeting, officials reported that during the year 2025-26, fire services controlled around 42,000 fire incidents and responded to more than 10,000 emergency events, saving property worth approximately 800 crore rupees.
The Chief Minister also ordered the transfer of police personnel who have been posted for a long time at important locations such as Raj Bhavan, the Chief Minister residence and police headquarters in Lucknow.
In cyber crime review, officials reported that cyber fraud worth 425.7 crore rupees was prevented during 2025-26. A total of 3,91,340 complaints were received and legal action was taken in 7,287 cases. The cyber helpline 1930 has increased its call handling capacity significantly.
The government also reviewed pending vigilance investigations and directed officials to speed up action against corruption and complete pending investigations within the set timeline.
