Mumbai,April 14,2026: Indian stock exchanges NSE and BSE remain closed today, April 14, on account of Dr B R Ambedkar Jayanti, as per the official trading holiday calendar.
The stock market holiday applies to trading in equities, equity derivatives, currency derivatives, securities lending and borrowing, and other exchange-traded segments.
With today’s closure, investors and traders will not be able to carry out transactions on the National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange during regular market hours.
Commodity markets will follow a separate schedule. The Multi Commodity Exchange will remain shut during the morning session but is scheduled to reopen for the evening trading session from 5:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
The National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange will remain closed for both morning and evening sessions, according to exchange schedules.
Trading across NSE and BSE is set to resume on Wednesday, April 15, after the one-day market holiday.
As per the 2026 exchange calendar, the next scheduled stock market holidays after Ambedkar Jayanti are Maharashtra Day on May 1 and Eid al-Adha on May 28.
Indian stock markets observe multiple trading holidays every year for national and regional festivals, with exchanges publishing the complete holiday calendar in advance for investors and market participants.
