Temple authorities have completed all arrangements for the grand Sitarama Kalyanam and Sri Rama Pattabhishekam celebrations taking place as part of Sri Rama Navami festivities in Bhadrachalam. The Kalyanam ceremony will be held at the Mithila Stadium on a specially decorated wedding stage.

Devotees from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and other states are arriving in large numbers to witness the celestial wedding of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita. Officials have made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the celebrations and to accommodate the large number of pilgrims visiting the temple town.

As part of the rituals, the traditional Edurkolu ceremony was conducted by temple priests. This ritual is considered an important event before the celestial wedding, where both sides exchange turmeric, kumkum and tambulam while devotional songs are performed.

The Mithila venue is symbolically considered as Mithila, the birthplace of Goddess Sita, while the nearby Vaikuntha area represents the place of Lord Rama. During the Edurkolu ceremony, priests recited the lineage and gotra names of the deities and performed traditional rituals before the wedding ceremony.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will visit Bhadrachalam on Sri Rama Navami and will participate in the temple rituals. The Chief Minister will also lay the foundation stone for temple development works.

The state government has prepared a major development plan for the Bhadrachalam temple with an estimated cost of Rs 586 crore. Administrative approval has already been granted for the first phase of works worth Rs 351 crore, and the foundation stone will be laid during the visit.

Large crowds are expected for the Sri Rama Navami celebrations and temple authorities, police and district administration have made extensive arrangements for the smooth conduct of the events.
