Bhadrachalam: The Tribal Museum located on the premises of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) in Bhadrachalam will soon be developed with modern facilities, ITDA Project Officer B. Rahul said.
Officials from the Bhadrachalam ITDA have left for Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh to study the state’s prominent tribal museum and its presentation methods. The visit is being undertaken in accordance with directions from the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs, with the objective of adopting suitable features for the further development of the Bhadrachalam museum.
According to Rahul, the officials will examine the artefacts, display arrangements, presentation techniques and visitor facilities at the Bhopal museum. The Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum in Bhopal is a government institution focused on preserving and showcasing tribal life and culture.
The ITDA Project Officer said the Bhadrachalam Tribal Museum, which was inaugurated in April 2025, has been attracting an increasing number of visitors. The museum has been designed to showcase tribal traditions, lifestyles, customs, art and everyday objects. Earlier reports have noted displays representing communities including the Koya, Nayakpod, Kondareddy and Lambada tribes.
Rahul said the museum had also received a state-level award on the occasion of Tourism Day. He further stated that Rs. 1 crore had been sanctioned by the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs for the development of the museum.
The proposed modernization is expected to further strengthen the museum as a centre for preserving and presenting the cultural heritage of tribal communities. The existing museum has already been renovated with additional features and facilities and has emerged as a visitor attraction in Bhadrachalam.
APO Power Venu, ITDA Administrative Officer Sunnam Rambabu, museum in-charge Veeraswamy and other ITDA staff members are participating in the study visit and related development activities.
