Peddipalli,March,03,2026: Peddapalli Deputy Commissioner of Police Ram Reddy inspected the arrangements at the Godavari Pushkar Ghats in the district. The visit was conducted as per the directions of Ramagundam Police Commissioner Amber Kishore Jha.
The inspection covered key ghats located near Yellampalli Project, Golivada and the Godavari Bridge area. Officials reviewed facilities and security measures being put in place for devotees.
During the visit, the DCP examined crowd movement, security deployment, barricading, CCTV camera installation and lighting arrangements. Parking facilities and traffic diversions in and around the ghats were also assessed.
Ram Reddy instructed officials to ensure that proper arrangements are made to avoid inconvenience to women, elderly people and children. He directed that a control room be set up and that sanitation and emergency services function effectively during the event.
The DCP emphasised the need for coordinated planning among police and other departments to manage the expected influx of devotees. He reviewed preparedness measures and issued on-the-spot instructions to concerned officers.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Ramesh, Ramagundam Circle Inspector Praveen Kumar, GDK-2 Town Circle Inspector Prasad Rao and Antargaon Sub-Inspector Venkat were present during the inspection. Other police personnel also participated.
The review was part of ongoing preparations ahead of the upcoming Pushkar period, when large numbers of devotees are expected to visit the Godavari Pushkar Ghats for ritual bathing.
Police officials stated that necessary arrangements will be implemented in a phased manner to ensure smooth movement and safety. Authorities are expected to continue inspections and coordination meetings in the coming days.
The administration has reiterated its focus on security, traffic management and basic amenities to facilitate a safe and orderly experience for visitors.
