A teleconference was held with the Collectors and Superintendents of Police (SPs) from the 11 districts: Adilabad, Jagityala, Kamareddy, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Medak, Medchal Malkajgiri, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Peddapalli, Sangareddy, and Siddipet. The focus was on reviewing the current flood situation, and planning for relief and rehabilitation efforts in these areas. Shanti Kumari emphasized that district collectors must make advance plans and take precautions to prevent any loss of life or property due to the expected heavy rains.

Given that it has been raining for the last four to five days, the situation could become more severe. Authorities have been instructed to take strong measures in coordination with the police and other departments. District collectors are advised to decide whether to declare school holidays based on local conditions. The Nirmal collector has been specifically directed to evacuate people from low-lying areas to safe locations after opening the gates of Swarna and Kadem projects. A team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), consisting of 31 members and four boats, is being sent to Nirmal.

Currently, 20,000 cusecs of water is being released from the SRSP project. If this amount increases, additional precautions should be taken in the affected areas. It is essential to coordinate with Maharashtra authorities to monitor the water flow from their catchment areas and take necessary precautions. Joint teams with officials from various departments should be deployed at bridges and streams to maintain vigilance. Collectors have been asked to seek help if needed, and district control rooms are to operate 24/7.

Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender has ordered SPs in the affected districts to work closely with district collectors. He also emphasized that cranes should be kept ready for use in emergency situations.
