Jagtial,March,23,2026: Former minister T Jeevan Reddy resigned from the Congress after more than four decades in the party. Jeevan Reddy Resigns From Congress announcement was made on March 22 at his residence in Jagtial.
He said repeated humiliation and mental strain over the past several months forced him to leave the party. He stated that he could no longer continue in the organisation under the present circumstances.
Shortly after his resignation announcement, supporters put up posters outside his residence in Jagtial expressing support for him. One of the posters featured a popular film dialogue stating that saying something once is equal to saying it a hundred times, along with his photograph.
According to his statement, recent political developments in Jagtial and the importance given to leaders who joined from other parties were among the reasons for his dissatisfaction. He felt that senior leaders were not being given proper recognition.
In an open letter to his supporters and associates, Jeevan Reddy invited them to attend a meeting on March 25 at a private function hall on Gollapalli Road in Jagtial. He said the meeting would be held to discuss his future political plans.
He said he had been associated with the Congress party for more than 40 years and found it difficult to continue in the current situation. He added that he would take a final decision after discussing with his supporters.
Party leaders reportedly tried to contact him after his resignation, but he remained firm on his decision.
A decision regarding his future political plans is expected after the March 25 meeting.
