Komatireddy Venkat Reddy Attacks KCR Over Telangana Credit
Launching a blistering attack, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said K. Chandrashekar Rao has no moral right to call himself the “Father of Telangana.” He stated that Telangana was formed after years of struggle and sacrifices by people from all communities.
Speaking at election meetings in Moodu Chinthalapally and Aliabad on Wednesday, the Minister said the movement belonged to students, employees, farmers and youth across the state.
“Over 1,100 martyrs laid down their lives. Ignoring them and claiming sole credit is unfair and against history,” he said.
Martyrs Remembered
The Minister recalled the sacrifices of Srikanthachari of Nalgonda, who immolated himself during the agitation, and constable Kishthaiah, who died by suicide during the movement.
He said such martyrs were the true architects of Telangana and their sacrifices should never be forgotten.
Komatireddy Venkat Reddy attacks KCR repeatedly for what he described as attempts to erase collective struggle and rewrite history for political gains.
Credits Sonia Gandhi for Statehood Decision
According to the Minister, it was former Congress president Sonia Gandhi who took the historic decision to grant statehood after being moved by the sacrifices of Telangana youth.
He alleged that while Telangana was built on sacrifice, some leaders used power to accumulate wealth after coming to office.
“Is the title ‘Father of Telangana’ meant for serving people or for looting the State?” he questioned.
Appeal to Voters for Congress Support
Addressing local residents, Komatireddy urged them to vote for the Congress party’s Hand symbol with a large majority. He said development of Moodu Chinthalapally municipality would be possible only under the Congress government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
He promised to remain accessible to the public and work closely with local leaders to solve civic problems.
“Congress councillors will act as a bridge between people and government to ensure welfare and development,” he said.
Vivek Venkataswamy Slams BRS Governance
Meanwhile, Employment and Labour Minister Vivek Venkataswamy also criticised the BRS leadership during meetings with Congress candidates in Medak.
He accused the BRS party and the Kalvakuntla family of misusing state resources during their decade-long rule.
Vivek alleged that corruption, commissions in projects, and financial mismanagement pushed Telangana into heavy debt.
Debt and Corruption Allegations
The Minister claimed that the state was burdened with a debt of nearly Rs. 8 lakh crore.
“With an annual income of only around one lakh crore, even interest payments are difficult,” he said.
He also alleged that the BRS accumulated huge party funds and that leaders built large farmhouses while poor families waited for promised double-bedroom houses.
Congress Confident of Victory
Expressing confidence, Vivek said Congress candidates would win a majority of municipal seats across Telangana. He predicted strong results, especially in Medak.
He added that the Congress government is working to correct the shortcomings of the previous administration and ensure inclusive development.
Political Temperature Rises in Telangana
With municipal elections approaching, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy attacks KCR and the BRS leadership more aggressively, turning the campaign into a direct battle between Congress and BRS.
Political observers say the elections will test public opinion on governance, development and corruption allegations.
As campaigning intensifies, both sides are trying to win voter trust by highlighting their achievements and attacking rivals.
For now, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy attacks KCR remains one of the key talking points shaping Telangana’s political debate.
