Hyderabad.10.09.2024: Danasari Anasuya, also known as ‘Seethakka’, has urged the central government to introduce a breakfast scheme in schools, similar to the existing mid-day meal program. She believes this move would help increase attendance in government schools and provide essential nutrition to children.

Speaking at a conclave in Agra, organized by the Departments of Social Justice and Empowerment, and the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Seethakka highlighted that many students from poor families come to school without having breakfast. Offering breakfast at schools could help these children concentrate better and improve their learning outcomes.

Seethakka also mentioned the success of a small hospital in a container in Mulugu district, suggesting that this model should be used across the country to provide primary healthcare in hard-to-reach areas. She further urged the central government to extend the National Maternity Benefit Scheme to cover the second child. Currently, the scheme provides Rs 6,000 to women from poor families for their first child.
