Speaking to the media, Rao criticized the recent killings of nine Naxals in Chhattisgarh and six in Telangana, calling them a “vicious act.” He argued that Maoists are not enemies of the country; they have an ideology, and while they may have committed crimes, any action against them should follow legal procedures, similar to the past arrests of revolutionary poet Varavara Rao and professor Sai Baba.

Rao also referred to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement that Maoists would be eliminated by 2026. He suggested that the Centre is carrying out a “total elimination program” against Maoists and warned the State government not to fall into the “trap” set by the Central government.
