Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will complete 1,000 days in office on September 1, marking a major milestone for the Congress government in the state. The government has highlighted welfare programmes, farmer support, infrastructure development and investment promotion among its key achievements during this period.
Revanth Reddy took office as Chief Minister following the Congress victory in the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections. His government has since focused on implementing welfare schemes and increasing support for farmers, women, youth and economically weaker sections.
According to the information highlighted by the government, Telangana’s per capita income rose to Rs 4,18,931 in 2025-26, around 91 per cent above the national average. The state government has also reported progress in attracting investments, expanding employment opportunities and strengthening the technology sector.
A major component of the government’s agenda has been agriculture and farmer welfare. The farm loan waiver scheme covering loans of up to Rs 2 lakh has benefited more than 25 lakh farming families, while the Rythu Bharosa programme has provided investment support to farmers. Additional measures include a Rs 500 per quintal bonus for fine-variety paddy, free electricity for agriculture and farmer insurance schemes.
The government said around Rs 1.68 lakh crore has been invested in agriculture and farmer welfare over the past 32 months. Telangana also recorded a major milestone in paddy procurement, with 81.12 lakh metric tonnes procured during the latest Yasangi season.
Social welfare schemes have also remained a central part of the Congress government’s programme. Under the Mahalakshmi scheme, women have been provided free travel on Telangana State Road Transport Corporation buses, while the Gruha Jyothi scheme offers free electricity for eligible households consuming up to 200 units.
The state has also implemented the subsidised LPG cylinder scheme, under which eligible families can receive domestic cooking gas cylinders at Rs 500.
The 1,000-day milestone comes as the Revanth Reddy government continues to push its development and welfare agenda. The government is expected to focus on further implementation of its programmes and ongoing infrastructure and investment initiatives in the coming months.
