Hyderabad,24.12.2024 : Telangana is taking a significant step towards renewable energy with the planned establishment of solar plants in Telangana across 231 acres of leased endowment land. This initiative, part of the first phase, aims to enhance the state’s energy resources while empowering women through self-help groups (SHGs).

Women Empowerment Through Renewable Energy

During a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat, Chief Secretary Kumari emphasized the importance of integrating SHGs into renewable energy projects. She outlined plans to facilitate SHGs in procuring 150 electric buses, which will later be transferred to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC).

The project aligns with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s vision of transforming SHG members into successful entrepreneurs by providing them with sustainable livelihood opportunities.

  • District Federation Buildings: Scheduled for completion by June 2025 to enhance the operational framework for SHGs.
  • SARAS Mela: A major event at the Indira Mahila Shakti Bazaar in Madhapur on January 25, 2025, showcasing products created by women entrepreneurs.
