Hyderabad.07.10.2024: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has dismissed claims that the government will spend ₹1.5 lakh crore on the Musi River project and related developments. Speaking at a press conference on Monday, he clarified that the exact cost will only be known once the Detailed Project Report (DPR) is ready.

He explained that tenders have been invited to choose a consultancy that will study the project and prepare the DPR. “The cost will be decided based on the DPR,” he said.

Opposition parties had earlier raised concerns about the project’s cost, alleging it would reach ₹1.5 lakh crore. The Deputy CM criticized these claims, saying they were baseless and aimed at misleading the public.

He also defended the Musi River project and the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), emphasizing that the government has no hidden agenda and welcomes constructive suggestions from the Opposition.

“Our government is transparent. If the Opposition has suggestions, they should bring them forward. They can criticize us if we don’t consider their ideas,” he added.
