New Delhi,March, 11,2026: US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the Iran war could end soon and claimed it would stop whenever he decides. His remarks came as military strikes involving the United States and Israel continued across Iran.
US President Donald Trump said the Iran war could end soon, claiming the conflict would stop whenever he chooses. In a phone interview with Axios on Wednesday, Trump stated that there was “practically nothing left to target” in Iran.
Speaking about the ongoing military operation, Trump said the campaign had largely achieved its objectives. He added that the remaining attacks were limited and suggested the conflict could be brought to an end quickly.
“Little this and that. Any time I want it to end, it will end,” Trump said while discussing the current state of the Iran war.
Despite Trump’s comments, military operations in the Middle East have continued. Earlier on Wednesday, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said that the joint campaign carried out by Israel and the United States would continue until all strategic objectives are met.
Katz said the operation would not have a fixed timeline and could last as long as necessary.
“This operation will continue without any time limit, as long as necessary, until we achieve all the objectives and decide the outcome of the campaign,” Katz said, according to AFP.
He also said Israeli strikes in Tehran and other parts of Iran would continue on a daily basis, targeting key locations. According to Katz, the pressure from these attacks could encourage internal political change within Iran.
Trump had earlier made strong claims about the impact of US military actions. In an interview with CBS News a day earlier, he said the conflict was already “very complete” and suggested that Iran’s military capabilities had been severely weakened.
The US president claimed Iran had lost much of its naval, air and communications capacity during the campaign. He also said Iran’s missile and drone capabilities had been significantly reduced.
Trump issued another warning to Tehran, cautioning the country not to escalate the situation further.
“They’ve shot everything they have to shoot, and they better not try anything cute or it’s going to be the end of that country,” Trump said.
The warning followed reports about possible mines in the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil shipping route. Trump posted on Truth Social that if Iran had placed mines in the waterway, they should be removed immediately.
He said any confirmed mining of the strait would trigger severe military consequences from the United States.
The Iran war has heightened tensions across the Middle East, with continued strikes and security concerns around major shipping routes and regional stability.
