Hyderabad, March,19,2026: The Telangana High Court Bhoodan lands case saw a significant development after the court directed authorities to maintain status quo on Bhoodan lands located in Velugumatla of Khammam district. The order came after affected residents approached the court seeking justice regarding house sites and housing allocation.

According to the petition filed by victims, several families lost their houses on the Bhoodan lands in Velugumatla. They requested the court to ensure that all genuine beneficiaries are identified and provided house sites and houses in the same Bhoodan lands.

During the hearing, the court noted the concerns raised by the affected residents. It directed that housing benefits should not be limited to only 311 individuals. Instead, every person who lost a house in the area must be considered and provided with house sites and houses as per eligibility.

The court further ordered that the existing condition of the Bhoodan lands should not be altered until further directions are issued. The Telangana High Court Bhoodan lands case therefore remains under judicial monitoring.

Officials including the Khammam District Collector, Revenue Divisional Officer and Tahsildars have been instructed to strictly maintain the status quo on the disputed lands. Authorities have also been directed to ensure that no changes are made to the land until the matter is fully examined.

The petitioners had approached the court stating that many affected families were left without proper rehabilitation despite losing their homes on the Bhoodan lands. They requested the court to intervene and ensure fair identification of beneficiaries and proper allocation of house sites.

After hearing the matter, the High Court directed officials to follow the status quo order and continue the process only in accordance with the court’s instructions. The Telangana High Court Bhoodan lands case will continue to be heard as the court reviews the identification of beneficiaries and the allocation of housing benefits.

The court’s directions are expected to impact the ongoing administrative process related to housing allocation on the Bhoodan lands in Khammam district.
