Hyderabad,March,20,2026: The Telangana Budget 2026 was presented in the Assembly on March 20 by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka. The Telangana Budget 2026 has a total outlay of Rs 3,24,234 crore for the 2026–27 financial year.
Presenting the Telangana Budget 2026, the minister said the government is committed to welfare and development. He stated that the administration is working responsibly to fulfil the mandate given by the people.
The budget prioritises public welfare, farmer support, women empowerment, and employment opportunities for youth. According to the proposal, Rs 2,34,406 crore has been allocated for revenue expenditure, while Rs 47,267 crore has been earmarked for capital expenditure.
In his address, the minister said the government has been delivering on its promises over the past two years. He added that efforts are being made to meet public expectations through focused spending.
Key sector allocations include Rs 23,179 crore for agriculture, Rs 26,674 crore for education, Rs 13,679 crore for healthcare, and Rs 21,285 crore for the power sector. Civil supplies have been allocated Rs 7,366 crore, while animal husbandry received Rs 1,529 crore.
Social welfare allocations include Rs 11,784 crore for Scheduled Castes, Rs 7,937 crore for Scheduled Tribes, Rs 12,511 crore for Backward Classes, and Rs 3,769 crore for minorities. Women and child welfare has been allocated Rs 3,143 crore, while labour welfare received Rs 999 crore.
The government has allocated Rs 6,000 crore for Rajiv Yuva Vikasam and Rs 7,430 crore for housing. Panchayati Raj and rural development received Rs 33,688 crore, while irrigation projects have been allocated Rs 22,615 crore.
Other allocations include Rs 17,907 crore for municipal administration, Rs 12,759 crore for transport, Rs 2,367 crore for the judiciary, Rs 875 crore for IT, Rs 3,490 crore for industries, and Rs 258 crore for handlooms.
Tourism has been allocated Rs 1,224 crore, while Rs 500 crore has been set aside for Godavari Pushkaralu. The police department has been allocated Rs 11,907 crore for maintaining law and order.
The minister also announced that the Indiramma Family Insurance scheme will be implemented from June 2. Financial assistance under Kalyana Lakshmi will be enhanced, and eligible students will receive a monthly scholarship of Rs 2,000.
The budget outlines the government’s plan to strengthen welfare delivery while supporting economic growth across sectors.
