Telangana PDS ration cards distribution will begin on August 15, with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy set to launch the programme in Sangareddy. The state government will distribute 1.05 crore newly sanctioned Public Distribution System ration cards to eligible beneficiaries.
State Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy announced on Thursday that similar distribution programmes will be held across all 119 Assembly constituencies in Telangana on Independence Day.
The minister said the distribution of the newly sanctioned ration cards is intended to strengthen food security for poor families and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits available under the Public Distribution System.
According to Uttam Kumar Reddy, the programme represents an important step in the implementation of the state government’s welfare initiatives. He said the large-scale distribution aims to improve access to essential food support for eligible households across Telangana.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will formally launch the distribution programme in Sangareddy town, while elected representatives and officials are expected to oversee similar events in the remaining Assembly constituencies on the same day.
The newly sanctioned ration cards will be added to the existing network of more than one crore Public Distribution System ration cards already in use across the state. The expansion is expected to extend the reach of the food security programme to additional eligible families.
The statewide distribution drive is scheduled to take place on August 15, with beneficiaries receiving the newly sanctioned cards through programmes organised in their respective Assembly constituencies.
